Miles away,
I hear rain pattering
Over my window
Above the street light
That illuminates
Specks of imagination.
It feels like a sin
Not to soak my feet
In the torrent
That flow down the streets
Discarded with garbage
That claims to be prosperity.
Here,
The pristine forest floor
Soaks the flurry
As if it's meeting an old lover...
And leaves dance in darkness
Unperturbed by their anonymity
Flapping like wings,
Flying to infinity.
My city turned me into concrete...
I don't soak the rain anymore
Watching out from a safe distance
I'm drowned in my own deluge...
And yet, somewhere
In a dark, unlit corner of my soul
An eternal rainfall drenches
Whatever is left of me.
I look for paper boats to survive.
